Roller blinds can produce a simple window treatment, but the result depends on the fabric, mounting and dimensions of the actual system. Before ordering in Singapore, ask the supplier to show the complete blind, including brackets and controls. The fabric width is not necessarily the same as the overall product width.

Confirm the measured arrangement

Have the supplier assess the recess, window handles, grilles and nearby surfaces. Agree the position and whether the blind sits inside or outside the opening. Ask how the window will open and be cleaned when the treatment is installed.

For a broad window, compare one roller with several independently operated sections. Review the visible gaps and where each section finishes. Record these details on the measurement schedule instead of relying on a generic product image.

Select the exact fabric

Ask for the product reference, colour and intended light-control characteristics. Review a larger sample against daylight and evening room lighting. Clarify what privacy the supplier expects in the proposed conditions.

If strong light control is important, discuss light around edges and between blinds as well as through the material. Ask whether additional components are needed and whether they suit the opening. Avoid interpreting the fabric category as a guarantee for the entire room.

Test operation and maintenance

Try the operating system and ask for the manufacturer’s safety instructions. Have the installer specify the appropriate securing and fitting arrangements. For motorised products, clarify controls, power, compatibility and what happens if a component needs servicing.

Ask how the fabric and mechanism are cleaned or replaced. Obtain spare-part and warranty information for the selected range rather than assuming a whole blind must be replaced for every fault.

Compare the installed quotation

Check measurement, material, tube, brackets, cassette if included, controls, delivery and installation. Identify removal, disposal and making good separately. Confirm whether a revised measurement changes the price before fabrication.
