A shower screen should be planned with the bathroom, not selected as an isolated glass panel. Before buying in Singapore, have the actual opening, fittings and floor conditions assessed. Ask the supplier to describe the complete system and how it will be installed.

Test the opening arrangement

Show the basin, toilet, shower controls and bathroom door on a measured plan. Compare a hinged, sliding or fixed-screen arrangement using actual product dimensions. Check how the household will enter and use the shower.

Ask for the clear opening and movement of every panel. A large-looking screen can still leave an awkward entrance when frames and door positions are considered. Discuss individual access needs with the relevant designer or professional.

Specify the complete product

Request the glass or other panel specification, frame, hinges, rollers, seals, handles and support details. Ask for the manufacturer’s intended-use, operating and care information. Do not infer suitability from a frameless appearance or a material name alone.

If a special finish or coating is proposed, clarify what it is designed to do and how it is maintained. Avoid treating a low-maintenance claim as a promise that cleaning is unnecessary.

Coordinate the bathroom junctions

Have the relevant trades assess the wall, floor and fixing conditions. Ask how the screen meets tiles and other finishes and how penetrations or interfaces are handled. Keep waterproofing and drainage responsibilities explicit rather than assuming they are included in the screen price.

Confirm the stage at which final measurements will be taken. A screen fabricated before the finished opening is verified may require an avoidable adjustment. Agree who signs off the dimensions.

Compare installed quotations

Check measurement, drawings, panel, hardware, transport, installation, sealing and making good. Identify removal and disposal of an old screen. Ask what happens if existing conditions require additional work.
