A bathroom vanity combines furniture, a basin and service connections in a small area. Before buying in Singapore, check the complete arrangement rather than comparing cabinet widths alone. Have the relevant installers assess the room, existing services and the actual products you intend to use.

Start with the bathroom layout

Show the door, toilet, shower and proposed vanity on a measured plan. Include drawers and doors in their open positions. Ask the designer to assess access and everyday movement with the selected basin and cabinet.

Check the position of the tap, mirror, lights and nearby fittings. A compact cabinet can still create an awkward installation if the chosen basin or tap needs space that has not been allowed for.

Coordinate basin and pipework

Provide actual product specifications before fabrication or final ordering. Ask who checks compatibility between the basin, countertop, tap and cabinet. Identify where supply and drainage connections will be accessed.

Review internal storage after accounting for pipework and the basin. A display drawer layout may differ from what can be installed around your services. Show the final arrangement on the approved drawing.

Specify construction and support

Request the materials, finish, edging, hardware and care guidance for the selected product. Ask about suitability for the intended bathroom conditions. Similar-looking cabinets can use different constructions and installation methods.

For wall-mounted units, have the installer assess the fixing and support. Do not assume a tiled surface establishes the condition of the construction behind it. Agree who carries out any necessary preparation or associated work.

Compare the installed scope

Separate cabinet, basin, countertop, tap, waste fittings, plumbing, mounting and making good where applicable. Ask whether removal and disposal of an existing vanity are included. Clarify who coordinates owner-supplied products and checks them before work starts.
