A TV console should accommodate the equipment you use and remain serviceable after installation. Before buying in Singapore, list the screen, soundbar, router, game consoles and other devices. Then compare storage and cable access alongside the appearance of the cabinet.

Measure the equipment and room

Record the actual device dimensions, connections and manufacturer’s placement requirements. Include any doors or drawers needed to reach the equipment. Check the console against the seating layout and walking route rather than selecting from a television-size label alone.

Ask who confirms the suitability of the television stand or wall mounting. Keep the equipment support and fixing requirements separate from the decorative appearance of the console.

Choose movable or fitted storage

A freestanding unit can be replaced or repositioned more easily. Fitted carpentry can address a specific room or integrated feature. Compare what you gain from the fixed arrangement and how it would adapt if the equipment changes.

For a wall-mounted console, have the installer assess the support and fixing method. Do not assume a feature panel itself is suitable support. Record who supplies backing or other necessary work.

Keep equipment accessible

Ask how cables pass between devices, sockets and the screen. Show access holes, removable panels and equipment compartments on the drawing. Confirm ventilation against the relevant product instructions rather than sealing every device inside a cabinet.

Check that remote controls, connectors and power switches remain usable. Plan space for future cables without turning a decorative panel into an inaccessible barrier.

Compare the full specification

Record materials, finish, edging, hardware, internal divisions and visible joints. Ask whether lighting, mounting brackets and electrical work are included or separate. Identify delivery, fitting, old-unit removal and making good.

Crown Interior Design’s living-room guide is linked below for broader furniture and circulation planning. It provides design context; your selected console still needs a clear product or carpentry specification.

Approve and inspect

Keep the equipment list and approved drawing with the quotation. Before final acceptance, operate doors and drawers and check access to the agreed connections. Obtain care and warranty information.
