Wall Panels Singapore: Compare Materials, Edges and the Complete Feature Wall
Plan wall panelling around sockets, doors, mounting and maintenance. Compare material specifications and installed details before choosing a feature wall.
Wall panels can create a focal point in a Singapore home, but a sample strip does not show the complete installed wall. Before choosing fluted, smooth or decorative panels, decide how the feature meets sockets, doors, skirting and any television or shelving. Those details often distinguish a clear quotation from an unfinished design.
Specify the actual panel product
Ask for the material, product reference, finish, dimensions and care guidance. A fluted appearance can be produced using different materials. Do not assume that products with a similar profile have the same suitability, weight or maintenance requirements.
Review a physical sample under the lighting planned for the room. Ask how joints, colour variation and edge pieces will appear across the full feature. Request the relevant manufacturer’s information for the location and intended use.
Draw the whole elevation
Show panel widths, starting points, end trims and any door openings on a measured elevation. Check where narrow cut pieces occur. If a concealed door is included, agree its clear opening, hardware, alignment and access rather than treating it as an invisible afterthought.
Include sockets, switches, air-conditioning controls and cable outlets. Ask whether those items are retained, moved or extended by the relevant trades. Confirm that service access is practical after all fixed panels are installed.
Separate decorative cladding from mounting support
If a television, shelf or cabinet will be mounted on the wall, have the installer assess the support and fixing method. Decorative panels should not be assumed to carry a load. Identify who supplies any necessary backing and who is responsible for the final mounting.
For existing walls, ask how unevenness, moisture concerns or damaged finishes will be assessed. Concealing a defect is not the same as investigating and resolving its cause. Record preparation or repair work explicitly where it is required.
Compare a finished-wall price
Ask about substrate preparation, panel supply, adhesive or fixing system, cutting, trims, junctions, service openings and cleaning. Clarify removal and disposal of an old feature wall. A price for material alone should not be compared with a fully installed proposal.

Approve the feature with the rest of the room
Check lighting, furniture dimensions and viewing positions before final sign-off. Keep the selected sample, product code and drawing with the contract. Agree how damaged individual panels can be repaired or replaced.
